Day 1: Arrival to Kr. Gora

Arrival to Kranjska Gora. Relax and unwind in this lovely alpine town north of the Julian Alps and enjoy the scenery of Lake Jasna by the hotel.

Day 2: An Alpine loop of the Upper Sava Valley

A ride on the Alpe Adria cycling path, a former railway, completely separated from the traffic. A scenic bypass of the giants of the Julian Alps, making our way to Laghi di Fusine, a twin lake below the Mt. Mangart mighty north face. Coming back, we can opt for another alpine valley of Tamar, visiting the Planica nordic centre and come back to Kranjska Gora.

Cycling: 38km, +650m elevation gain, possible to shorten significantly

Day 3: A ride through Radovna Valley

From Kranjska Gora, riding the Alpe Adria  cycling route in the opposite direction, towards the village of Mojstrana. A detour for Peričnik Waterfall is possible here (extra 10km). Continuing over a pass to Radovna Valley, making a stop by the lovely Kreda lake and continuing to Bled, an alpine pearl of Slovenia.

Day 4: From Bled to Bohinj

After an obligatory circle of Bled Lake, a leisure cycle on the brand new (opens end of 2024), long awaited cycling path to Bohinj, by the Sava River. A nice loop at the end to reach the lake and finish the day in a fantastic boutique hotel in Bohinjska Bistrica.

Cycling: 37km, +500m elevation gain, possible to shorten significantly

Day 5: From the Alpine to the Mediterranean

From Bohinjska Bistrica, now you board a train to the other, mediterranean side. A 40’ scenic ride ends in Most na Soči (or later, if you want to shorten this day), where you start cycling down the Soča river. A short climb at the end and you wind yourself in Goriška Brda, also called Slovenia Tuscany.

Cycling: 35km, +650m elevation gain, possible to shorten or extend, depending on the exit train station

Day 6: Along the vineyards

Goriška Brda offer a fantastic cycling poligon for leisure cycling of the small hills and vineyards. Combined with a wine tasting at a local winery, the last day will be spent at ease, enjoying the climate and scenery of the most western region of Slovenia.
